Over 40 Years of Engineering Experience
David Hicks and Associates was established on April 1, 1971 as a consulting firm specializing in municipal engineering and land surveying. Eufaula Engineering Company, established in 1951, was purchased in 1971 to provide expanded engineering and land surveying services to southeast Alabama, southwest Georgia and northwest Florida.

The primary qualification base for our firm’s immediate success was the experience of David Hicks while employed by the U.S. Corps of Engineers, Mobile District and the Economic Development Administration (EDA) U.S. Department of Commerce. Mr. Hicks served as Chief Field Engineer with the EDA from 1967 until 1971. This experience with federal guidelines and procedures has proven beneficial to our clients in obtaining Federal Grants in minimum time.

Our Goal: Satisfied Customers
The most important asset of our firm is its reputation for providing accurate and complete engineering services for a fair and reasonable fee. We are convinced that repeat business with satisfied clients and their referrals is vital to our firm’s success.

Our firm is small and staffed only with qualified personnel. We believe that a small firm can offer better quality and more cost-effective engineering solutions than large firms simply because all project designs are personally done by experienced personnel with years of education and training. Specializing in the field of municipal engineering, we are committed to provide personalized technical services of highest quality and accuracy.

Governmental Compliance
Our firm works with local, state and federal governmental agencies, including the Alabama Department of Environmental Management, the Alabama Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration, Environmental Protection Agency, Alabama Rural Water Association, U.S. Fish and Wildlife, U.S. Corps of Engineers, USDA Rural Development, and Southeast Alabama Regional Planning, to ensure compliance with all government regulations and requirements for each project.
